Beverly Baitsholts
Beverly serves as a dedicated legal assistant, overseeing operations in our Treasure Coast divisions alongside attorneys Whitney Duteau, Esq. and Paul Bernard, Esq. Before her current role at Meltzer & Bell, P.A., she spent 12 years as a legal assistant in the criminal division of the Office of the Public Defender in the 19th Judicial Circuit, based in St. Lucie County. Her experience includes a significant stint in the Juvenile Division, where she previously worked with Paul Bernard, Esq., who is now a part of our firm. From November 2018 to October 2022, Beverly also worked in the Martin County Public Defender’s Office, contributing in both the Juvenile and Felony Divisions.
Her responsibilities encompassed managing a high volume of cases, updating and finalizing case files, preparing documents, electronic filing, arranging depositions, acquiring records from various institutions like the Department of Corrections, medical facilities, and schools, as well as organizing and scheduling for attorneys. Beverly is particularly proud of her intensive work on Miller/Graham Assignments, focusing on assisting juveniles in efforts to revise life sentences that were imposed improperly. Her extensive experience and knowledge are invaluable assets to our Treasure Coast office, making her an essential member of our team.
