Facing any traffic ticket, no matter how minor, can be stressful and confusing. Even a speeding ticket can mean a heavy fine, a court appearance, and an increase in your insurance rates. An allegation of a more serious offense, such as hit and run or driving under the influence of alcohol, carries the possibility of much steeper consequences, including jail time and a mark on your criminal record. It's important not to underestimate the impact of any traffic ticket.
