Speed Zones

Florida has implemented speed limits to deter drivers from high speeds since it increases the risk of serious accidents. These laws are designed to protect the general public by harshly punishing traffic offenders who speed unnecessarily. Some public areas in Florida are known as “speed zones” and if a person is caught speeding there, they will face enhanced penalties.

Speeding in a speed zone will mean increased ticket costs because the state of Florida considers the zone to be a high-risk area for accidents. A few examples of speed zones include school perimeters or the area around a construction zone. If you or someone you know has recently been ticketed in a school zone, then it’s within your best interest to gain legal representation.
